Hastings Middle School and C2C Featured in Local Paper

A pioneering teacher from Hastings Middle School in Hastings, Michigan, launched the Classroom to Career Program with his students this year. Mr. William Renner is no stranger to innovative projects as he has led his students through various amazing experiences. For example, through the Summer MI-Trade Camp, Renner’s students learned how to build dog houses which were sold and then contributed all proceeds back to MI-Trades for continuing program support. This school year, his students learned about the ABii robot the best way possible: by building them!

When one student was asked about the project, he said “What I liked about the project was that I made something new that I never thought I was going to do, and I also liked that I learned a lot of things. I learned how some of the parts of the robot work together that will help kids in the future and hopefully expand their options for learning.” The robots built by Hastings Middle students have been delivered to the students at Hastings Elementary to support their math and reading learning this year. Way to go Team Hastings!
