ABii featured on “The Next Frontier” by CNN International

ABii, the smart robot tutor, and Laura Boccanfuso, CEO of Van Robotics, were featured on CNN International’s “The Next Frontier.” The special first premiered on June 10th, 2023 and focused on the future of education and how we will learn in the year 2050.

ABii’s feature took place in the classrooms of Sunny Pointe Elementary School (Blue Springs School District) in Blue Springs, MO. Sunny Pointe currently uses ABii in all of their K-5 classrooms for math, reading, and social-emotional learning reinforcement. Blue Springs School District says that over the past year, their schools using ABii have seen an increase in their learning growth rate by 30% when compared to the last 2 years. “What we found is that social robots… are remarkably good at accelerating learning for students because they actually help improve learning habits and that is really foundational to lifelong success” said Boccanfuso in reference to the research findings used to build ABii.

When asked about the future of robotics in learning, Boccanfuso said “AI in robotics is just scraping the surface of the impact that it can have in student learning, but I think it is going to require an evolution of how we think about student learning in general.”
